AutoTrack for AutoCAD 2011
Early adopters of AutoCAD 2011 will be pleased to hear that Autotrack 8.9 has been released
Those of you that have upgraded to AutoCAD 2011 will be pleased to hear that AutoTrack 8.9 with support for AutoCAD 2011 was released on 14 May 2010. It features many new features, some big, some not so big. One of your biggest gripes in the previous version was the lack of a ribbon—that's now included. Also included is a prize-winning Fly-By real-time camera control which even lets you see the drivers eye view in the rear view mirrors when reversing! Amongst the early feedback has been “where's the trim to start/end buttons?”; the answer is that we've removed them because all the path editing can now be done using grip editing, just select the path and look for the arrow grip at the side of the start and end of the path.
Civil 3D users get even more from v8.9. Now you can project paths onto surfaces, animate vehicles over surfaces and generate vertical clearance paths on profile views directly. And the paths update automatically when the surface changes. The new features were demonstrated by Autodesk at AU 2009 and received a fantastic response from users. If you use Civil 3D you really need to get v8.9.
