AutoTrack
models the swept paths of all types of steered vehicles including articulated
and drawbar trucks in loading areas and junctions, aircraft on taxiways,
and rear and combination steered vehicles. Uses of the system include preparing
and approving planning applications, designing loading areas, aircraft aprons
and taxiways, car parks, petrol station forecourts. The software runs as
an extension to industry leaders AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Features
new to version 8 include:-
- Native
support for AutoCAD 2011 and all verticals
AutoTrack detects both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of AutoCAD 2011 and all vertical
derivative products and automatically installs support for them in Express
and Compact modes.
- Native
support for MicroStation V8i, PowerDraft 7.0 to V8i, PowerCivil
XM and Bentley MX:
AutoTrack
detects all these variants and automatically installs
support for them in Express and Compact modes.
- Fully
independent secondary steering:
Control a second steered axle at drive time using the mouse wheel. The system
can also model driver controllable steering linkages.
- Multiple
user-definable camera angles in 3D animation:
You
can now define any number of camera viewpoints (including drivers
eye views) and then switch between them during animation playback.
- Animation
acceleration and deceleration:
Make your animations more realistic by adding acceleration and
deceleration zones at the start and end of paths and at changes
of speed and direction. Enabled with a single check box but
fully customisable.
- Optional
wing mirrors:
Add wing mirrors with a single button click.
- Partial
self-steering:
Define
partial self-steering in which the self-steering is limited or
dampened.
- Uni-directional
self-steering:
Define vehicles with self-steering
in one direction only - quite commonplace.
- Full
width tyre tracks:
Display full width tyre tracks with a single button click - now
you can check the 'inside' envelope too!
- Compact
installation type especially for remote deployment:
New installation type that is part way between Express
and Custom. It adds user-definable options to all CAD systems
it finds. This means that it can be deployed using a single
silent install script to systems that have different CAD systems.

Other
features:-
- Multi-platform
support: AutoTrack is available for AutoCAD R14,
2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011,
Map R2, R3, R4, R5, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011,
Civil 3D 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011,
Land Development Desktop 1, 2, 2i, 3, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007,
2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011, Architectural Desktop 1, 2,
3, 3.3, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011,
MicroStation 95, SE, J, V8, XM and V8i on Windows 98, NT,
2000, ME, XP & Vista. The
stand-alone version of AutoTrack (see below) can also link
via DXF to other CAD systems, including any version of AutoCAD
LT.
- Stand-alone
version: AutoTrack is also supplied as a stand-alone product
that requires neither AutoCAD nor MicroStation.
- Advanced
driving algorithms: The path generation algorithm
includes a time element that allows it to generate accurate
swept paths at selected speeds.
- Dynamic
manoeuvre checking: Built-in checks prevent the
user from inadvertantly exceeding the vehicle limitations.
- Extensive
vehicle libraries: AutoTrack comes complete with over
1000 pre-defined vehicles covering
UK, USA, Canada, Australia & New Zealand.
- Two
vehicle editors: Built
in vehicle creation and editing facilities allow similar vehicles
to be copied and then edited but also prevents the
user from editing base library vehicles.
- Support
for complex vehicles: AutoTrack is able to model
complex steering linkages (such as rear
steered trailers). Also models fully independent secondary
steering. Axle types for Pendel axles, tandem steered axles,
hydraulically steerable
couplings.
- AutoDrive:
Revolutionary new way to drive vehicles that makes reversing
large vehicles as easy as drawing a line just point
and click.
- Vertical
Clearance mode: Unique Vertical Clearance drive mode
for checking headroom and ground clearance.
- Follow:
Allow vehicles to follow predefined paths.
- Script:
Powerful manoeuvre scripting language.
- Manual
Drive: Unique fully interactive driving mode.
- Dynamic
Editing: Unique interactive tool to edit the alignment
of swept paths by dragging. Again, checks are performed
to prevent impossible paths.
- Dynamic
Reporting: Reports appear automatically
as soon as you finish your path. Once generated, you can change
the
presentation
format for any report without having to first delete old reports. New
reports have been added for body and wheel, static and clearance
envelopes allowing greater clarity of presentation.
- Customisable:
All settings, including report content, colours and line styles
can be edited and saved as defaults saving time on future projects.
- 3D
animation: 'Out
of the box' animation, i.e. requires no additional data entry.
When used to model aircraft users may wish to provide
their own 3D blocks. Works even with vehicles you create yourself.
(AutoCAD & MicroStation versions only)
- Parking
layout tools: Parking
layout tools enable fast planning of vehicle parking
areas. Support for all types of parking as well as special
bay types. Built-in and user-definable parking standards.
Dynamic reporting displays bay count by type, zone, service
type, vehicle class, etc.
- Report
Wizard: A new Report Wizard makes it even easier
to get your output looking the way you want it.
- Settings
Wizard: A Settings Wizard makes it easier to find
the most commonly used settings.
- Licences:
Single user or network licences available.
